This is something very unique to MarchUP and is often undervalued. One of the key criteria for a candidate to receive a placement is how they conduct themselves in an interview. Depending on the role a candidate maybe asked to prove their technical skill in a specific area, or describe how they solved a particular problem. If a candidate has some weaknesses in their presentation skills or communication skills or even technical gaps—MarchUP works with that Candidate one-on-one and assists them in honing their interview skills.
MarchUP has developed a state of art virtual interview environment to give a real-world interview experience. A candidate in a virtual room participates in a synchronous way, which means that the interviewer and the candidate are logged into the virtual environment at the same time.
Our proprietary software allows a candidate to conduct an interview from the comfort of their home with a certified instructor who is acting as a potential employer. This interview is conducted in a virtual room. It is a web conferencing session that has a whiteboard and it can optionally be recorded. The interviewer is a MarchUP community member and a technical expert that may ask the candidate to prove his/her technical skills. Proof of skill can be done by either writing on the whiteboard or by clicking on icons that allow remote access to lab routers that have been pre-staged for configuration for this scenario.
The benefit is this interview is only for the candidate and they have full control of whether they want to use a session for practice purposes or if they want to record the session and provide a link to it on their LinkedIn site for potential employers to view his/her capabilities.
This unique approach is a true differentiator for MarchUP and we have found that this approach has resonated well with our clients as they are able to see in advance the technical prowess, the presentation and communication skills of a potential candidate even before they have their first interview. This greatly reduces the time to find a suitable resource.
Our interviewers can be any senior member of our community that has the skillset and experience in that area. The interviewers have the option to remain “anonymous” if desired– due to the fact that purpose of the interview is to assist the potential candidate.
